Today is earth day.
Revisiting several of my art works on the landscape of Singapore.
- This art work is titled Flat Surfaces, year 2011, the art form is a book, of manipulated google images of parks in singapore. Created during our Artists Caravan project “Manicured Nature’ residency at Singapore’s Diary Farm nature park.
These are rearranged satellite images of different parks in Singapore in 2011. The park scapes have gone through further changes over the decade. These images are archival images collected then in 2011.
2. Titled State of 06, year 2022, photography and recorded piano sounds, this is the site of a dumpster ground in a residential district. The recorded piano sounds came from my neighbour’s piano practice sessions which are random, inaccurate and imperfect, intercede with reverberating of sounds inhabiting the common spaces such as the kitchen.

3. Titled Unstate of 06, year 2021, this is an installation work using text, used cardboard, bird sounds and music and mixed medium. The texts are crafted relating to deep ecology. The entire installation is build around the experience of middle school education in Singapore early 1980s and the school has an environment of nature elements in the institution.
4. Titled State of 15, year 2009 and Little conversations 26, these sculptures are made using reused aluminium foils. These are modelled by hand, directly from architecture ornaments found around the central district of Singapore. Little conversations 26 incorporates an interview with house owner on his life living in the street and changes to the district.
